Member of Family: Hesperiidae
Historically, two subspecies were found in Ontario. The Eastern subspecies ( persius ) appears to be extirpated from Southern Ontario. The northern subspecies ( borealis ) is similar in appearance and is still found in Northern Ontario. I have yet to photograph either subspecies in Ontario, so I'm using photos I obtained from the Western US.
