Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus)
Rocky Point Provincial Park, ON 2016/08/06
Male - James N Allan Provincial Park, ON 2016/08/01
Black form Female - Green Ridge State Forest, MD 2015/05/05
Female - Port Colborne, ON 2016/08/02
Member of Family: Papilionidae
This southern species does not range beyond Southern Ontario. The Midsummer Tiger overlaps this range, as well as that of the more northerly Canadian Tiger Swallowtail. The black form of the female shown at bottom left is fairly rare in Ontario, and so far, I have only seen it in the US.
