On iNaturalist, the scientific name has been updated to Bursius communis.
Though rare in the past, this species is becoming more common across Southern Ontario, and in 2012, was reported as far north as Presqu'ile Provincial Park near Belleville. It is reported to establish breeding colonies in the Leamington area, where it may be able to overwinter.
